Kate Middleton’s controversial uncle has joined the cast of “Celebrity Big Brother” in the UK and has already discussed the royal family.
Gary Goldsmith, the younger brother of Carole Middleton, the mother of the Princess of Wales, is one of 12 celebrities on the British reality TV show as his niece continues her recovery from surgery.
Goldsmith is known for his outspoken nature and has not held back when it comes to sharing his opinions on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
In an interview with The Sun, Goldsmith, 58, described Middleton as “beautiful on the outside, but even more beautiful on the inside and truly a devoted mother.”
“That’s why I was so upset with Harry and Meghan because you shouldn’t interfere with that and rewrite history,” he added.
“I was really annoyed when they criticized my lovely niece who couldn’t defend herself,” he continued.
Goldsmith also shared his thoughts on the Princess of Wales, who made her first appearance since December on Monday.
“She is simply perfect,” he said of his famous niece in a short clip, recounting his first meeting with her husband, Prince William. “The first time I met William, Catherine was cooking and William said: ‘Hi, do you want a cup of tea?’”
“Very ordinary,” Goldsmith joked.
When asked if Middleton would be watching her uncle on the reality TV show, Goldsmith replied, “If she does, it will be from behind the sofa!”
Goldsmith also addressed his past controversies before appearing on the show.
“I often hear that people think I’m a bit of a troublemaker,” he said. “It would be nice to set the record straight, but I enjoy teasing people. Mischievousness and danger are in my nature.”
“I’m a nightmare to live with,” he joked, adding, “There’s a reason why I’ve had four wives.”
Reports surfaced last year that he was planning to release a tell-all memoir.
Goldsmith, 58, first hinted at a memoir in 2013 after earning $36 million from his successful IT business.
