New Delhi: Renowned actress and now politician Kangana Ranaut stirred a heated debate with her recent remark concerning Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Speaking at the Times Now Summit, Kangana made a surprising declaration, referring to Netaji as independent India’s first Prime Minister. The snippet from her interview swiftly circulated across social media platforms, garnering significant attention after being shared by prominent political personalities.

In the viral video clip, Kangana can be heard stating, “Let me clarify this first. When we gained independence, where did the first Prime Minister of India, Subhash Chandra Bose, go?”, despite attempts by the interviewer to correct her.

भारत के पहले प्रधानमंत्री सुभाष चंद्र बोस थे.

Kangana’s statement regarding Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s role in India’s post-independence era sparked a flurry of reactions and debates online, prompting questions about the accuracy of her historical claims.

when Alia Bhatt said something like this on National Television she was just a teen (19 years old) but here almost 40 years old so called nationalists aka Andh Bhakt is so “Genius of the Year” for this!🫡pic.twitter.com/H4ap9QBkAw

The Congress party’s official social media handle also joined the mockery by sharing Kangana’s video snippet of her controversial statement. They wrote a witty caption in Hindi, “Kangana ji has a deep understanding of history. If two-four more such examples are presented then BJP can be a strong contender for the post of Prime Minister.”

Following the social media uproar, Kangana took to Instagram Stories to share an article clipping highlighting Subhash Chandra Bose’s self-declaration as the Prime Minister of Azad Hind in 1943. Accompanying the post, she wrote, “Some general knowledge for beginners.”

For the unversed,  Subhas Chandra Bose passed away on August 18, 1945. In 1951, Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed as India’s first prime minister and remained in that post until 1964.
