Makers of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 gave an exciting update to fans via social media on Saturday. Lyca Productions announced that the film will release in June. The makers also released a new poster featuring Kamal in his look from the film.
Indian 2 is the sequel to the 1996 film Indian, which also starred Kamal as Veerasekaran Senapathy. The franchise brings back Kamal and director S Shankar for the sequel. Lyca Productions took X to make the announcement.

Indian 2 also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kalidas Jayaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar amongst others.
Earlier Kamal Haasan had revealed that the shooting of Indian 3 is also complete. In an interview with The Hindu, he said, “I can’t make up for the lost time. Also, we cannot speed up production as the quantity doesn’t matter, quality does. We have completed Indian 2 and Indian 3. The post-production work of Indian 2 is currently happening. We will start work on Indian 3 post-production after we finish it.”
Kamal was last seen on the big screen in the 2022 film Vikram. He has also been roped up for Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life. Kamal will also be seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898AD, which is led by Prabhas and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.
