The Patriots are considering hiring former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to lead their inconsistent offense under new head coach Mike Vrabel, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noting McDaniels as “the favorite” for the job. McDaniels, who previously held various roles with the Patriots, including offensive coordinator and defensive assistant, most recently coached the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. Vrabel has also interviewed other candidates, but Rapoport expects McDaniels to emerge as the frontrunner as the Patriots aim to recreate past success in a new era.
