U.S. payroll growth totals 151,000 in February, less than expected

Job growth in February was weaker than expected, with nonfarm payrolls increasing by 151,000, falling short of the 170,000 forecast. Despite President Trump’s efforts to reduce the federal workforce, the unemployment rate rose to 4.1%. The Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported stable job growth, although below expectations.
