A survivor of a fatal crash in Hawke’s Bay has been charged with firearms offences following the incident on Kopu Rd, Wairoa, around 1am on Sunday. The driver died in the crash, while a 27-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries and was arrested for firearms-related offences. Police had previously received reports of gunshots in Wairoa’s Clyde Domain before the crash occurred, as stated by Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Pritchard.
