Toronto model Miriam Mattova, a Jewish Slovakian-Canadian, was forcibly removed from an Uber by a driver who stated she was uncomfortable having a Jewish passenger. The incident, which occurred on November 30, is a stark reminder of antisemitism, prompting Mattova to advocate for accountability in such cases. Despite Uber’s apology and promise to address the situation, Mattova expressed concern over the driver’s continued employment. Drawing on her grandmother’s Holocaust experiences, she emphasizes the importance of confronting hatred and sharing her story, especially following the recent Hamas attacks in Israel.
