Shigeru Ishiba, Japan’s new Prime Minister, introduced his cabinet in an effort to unify the Liberal Democratic Party and win a national mandate through a snap election on Oct. 27. The 67-year-old former defense minister, who recently won the leadership contest, was officially appointed as prime minister by parliament. He is set to hold his first news conference in Tokyo later in the day.
