The Collectors is a series that highlights unique collections and the people behind them. Want to nominate a collector to be featured as part of this series? Email Kelly.Provost@cbc.ca.

James Benesh, a Regina resident and custom window coverings business owner, has amassed one of the largest known hockey book collections, with around 1,200 titles. His interest was sparked by an online hockey draft, leading him to engage with other fans and expand his collection significantly since 2008. Notably, he acquired every issue of The Hockey News and was recognized as a hockey historian through his contributions to the publication. His rarest item is a copy of Anatoly Tarasov’s Road to Olympus, and he seeks only two more specific titles to complete his collection.
