Chinese authorities in Tibet have denied to retry environmental activist Anya Sengdra, who is serving a seven-year sentence for speaking out against government corruption. Sengdra, a resident of Gade county, was convicted in 2019 for disturbing social order and has unsuccessfully attempted to appeal twice. Despite international appeals for his release, Sengdra’s lawyer was informed by the Supreme People’s Court that they would not review his case, signaling a lack of justice in the legal process.
