At the beginning of each month, tech websites rely on Statcounter Global Stats’ charts to generate articles about technology trends, particularly focusing on Windows 10 and Windows 11 popularity. However, the monthly fluctuations in data are mostly statistical noise, with pageviews from Windows 10 PCs steadily decreasing and those from Windows 11 PCs increasing over time. Despite the fluctuations, the underlying data shows consistent trends, with the data not reflecting actual market share. Statcounter, an Irish web analytics company, provides tracking technology for websites but has seen a decline in its customer base over the years.
