Italy’s foreign ministry announced that the U.S. has significantly reduced proposed duties on several Italian pasta makers after reassessing their U.S. operations. Initially, 13 companies faced an additional 92% tariff, but the new rates are 2.26% for La Molisana, 13.98% for Garofalo, and 9.09% for the remaining 11 producers. The ministry views this recalibration as recognition of the companies’ cooperation, with full review conclusions expected on March 11. Italy’s pasta exports were valued at over €4 billion in 2024, with the U.S. market alone worth nearly $800 million.
