Italy ‘cherishes’ Chinese investment, wants more – POLITICO

Italian President Sergio Mattarella expressed that Chinese investment in Italy is currently “below potential” and should be increased during his visit to Beijing. He emphasized the need to balance Italy’s trade with China, which has doubled in value to €74 billion from 2016 to 2022. Mattarella also highlighted the importance of encouraging Italian investment in China, which reached €15 billion in 2023.
