The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former defense minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Deif for crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu and Gallant are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, while Deif is accused of murder, rape, torture, and taking hostages. The warrants could complicate travel abroad for the accused, but enforcement may be difficult as member countries are required to detain suspects but the court lacks enforcement mechanisms.
