Israel’s military is organizing hiking tours for civilians in newly occupied Syrian territory during Passover, with tours running twice daily for a week starting Sunday. The excursions, led by the IDF’s 210th Division and other local organizations, will take groups into the Golan Heights, including sites like Mount Hermon and the Ruqqad river valley, under military escort. Although the IDF claims the tours are “inside Israel,” they occur in the demilitarized buffer zone internationally recognized as Syrian territory, and future tours may be considered depending on security conditions.
