The Israeli military is increasing its troop presence in southern Lebanon, aiming to expand a buffer zone to counter threats from Hezbollah. This escalation follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s comments about a larger ground operation after Hezbollah’s missile attacks in response to regional tensions. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned these actions as violations of sovereignty and international law, stating that Lebanon will file a complaint with the UN Security Council. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant civilian displacement and casualties.
