The Biden administration was not informed in advance of Israel’s airstrikes in Lebanon’s capital, which targeted Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Six high-rise apartment buildings in Dahiyeh were destroyed in the attack, but Nasrallah’s death remains unconfirmed. The strikes, aiming to eliminate Nasrallah, were not acknowledged by either the Israeli military or Hezbollah.
