Israel and UN clash over aid to Gaza

Israel has accused the United Nations of attempting to obstruct aid distribution in Gaza, where a dire humanitarian crisis has emerged due to a two-month blockade. Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon stated that aid is being facilitated through a new distribution mechanism involving the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which the UN opposes, citing a chaotic aid distribution event that injured 47 people. The UN refuted Israel’s claims, asserting that it is doing its utmost to coordinate aid efforts while maintaining its humanitarian principles, with fewer than 500 of the 800 approved truckloads having reached Gaza.
