The FBI confirmed that Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old Army veteran from Houston, acted alone in a ramming attack in New Orleans that killed at least 14 people, inspired by ISIS. Despite ISIS losing most of its territory in Iraq and Syria by 2019, the group’s ideology still attracts individuals susceptible to radicalization and recruitment, leading to continued attacks.
