The first American service members killed in the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran died in an Iranian drone strike on a tactical operations center in Kuwait, with at least six fatalities confirmed. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated the strike penetrated defenses, while military officials raised concerns about the adequacy of the facility’s fortifications. Preliminary assessments indicate a one-way drone, likely an Iranian Shahed-136, was used in the attack. Additionally, at least 18 service members were seriously wounded in the ongoing Operation Epic Fury.
