The inquest revealed failures in providing basic medical attention and highlighted the psychological toll of the now-abolished indefinite jail terms, with Haydar’s family calling for urgent reforms to prevent further tragedies among IPP prisoners who face prolonged incarceration and strict license conditions even after release.
