Snowbirds seek owls on the Canadian prairie in winter

Montana physician Kishore Karamchandani recently participated in a winter owl tour in Manitoba, where he observed and photographed various owl species, including the great grey owl. This year, about 60 birders joined the sold-out tours, drawn by the unique opportunity to see owls thriving in the harsh winter climate. Despite offering warmer trips to locations like Belize and Costa Rica, many participants prefer the distinctive experience of Manitoba’s winter owl watching.
