While intended to enhance safety and legality for sex workers, many oppose the center, viewing it as an ‘erotic prison’ that detracts from the district’s charm and could complicate their livelihoods. A consultation period will gather feedback from locals and stakeholders, with plans for financing and construction decisions expected by late 2026.
