A new study presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress highlights inflammation as a significant heart disease risk factor for women, comparable to high LDL cholesterol, based on 30 years of data from over 12,000 women. Despite its importance, screening for inflammation via high-sensitivity CRP is not standard in the U.S., potentially leaving women at risk for heart attacks and strokes without necessary treatment.
