A former international student, Aswin V. Sajeevan, was sentenced to 5.5 months in jail for voyeurism after spying on his female housemates through a peep hole in their bathroom over six months. The Ontario judge considered Sajeevan’s immigration consequences and remorse, while victims described lasting emotional trauma and a breach of trust from living with him.
