India captain Rohit Sharma emphasized the importance of staying positive and not dwelling on the possibility of allrounder Hardik Pandya getting injured in the pre-match press conference of the 1st ODI vs England. He highlighted how the team successfully coped with Pandya’s injury during the 2023 World Cup and urged reporters to focus on the current good cricket being played. Pandya had sustained an ankle injury during the 2023 World Cup and has not played an ODI match since, but made a successful return to competitive cricket in the Indian Premier League and helped India win the T20 World Cup.
