Improved Area Monitoring with New Meraki Smart Cameras

How does this make you feel?

Meraki’s smart cameras provide businesses with an easy way to monitor their physical security, all managed on the cloud. The Cisco Store utilizes various Meraki cameras, including the outdoor smart cameras MV63 and MV93, which have proven to be valuable assets. The MV63 features a wide-angle, fixed-focused lens for monitoring entrances and exits, while the MV93 offers panoramic wide area coverage with its 360° fish-eye lens, even in low lighting conditions. These cameras contribute to the security of the Cisco Store through intelligent object detection using machine learning, motion search, and motion recap.

Recently, indoor versions of these cameras have been introduced. Launched in February 2024, the Meraki MV13 and MV33 cameras enhance security measures with clearer footage, high performance, and improved analytics. The latest features of these cameras, attribute search, and presence analytics, further enhance their capabilities.

Introducing the newest indoor smart cameras, Meraki MV13 and MV33

The new Meraki MV13 is equipped with a fixed lens, ideal for monitoring indoor hallways and spaces. It offers top-notch visual components, including 8.4 MP image quality and up to 4K video resolution.

On the other hand, the Meraki MV33 features a 360° fish-eye lens, 12.4 MP image quality, and is suitable for monitoring various indoor spaces in retail, hospitality, education, and healthcare settings.

Faster search, smarter insights

Meraki has introduced two new features: attribute search and presence analytics.

The attribute search feature allows for quicker parsing through video footage based on clothing color of individuals and vehicles. This helps security teams filter through footage efficiently in case of suspicious activity. The presence analytics feature includes area occupancy analytics and line-crossing analytics, providing insights on people movement in defined areas.

Both the MV13 and MV33 expand Meraki’s camera portfolio, offering enhanced capabilities for monitoring building spaces. Attribute search is available on the MV13 and MV63, while presence analytics is incorporated into all second and third generation cameras. Security teams can customize monitoring areas and receive analytics to identify suspicious activity and crowd insights.

The MV13 and MV33 cameras will be deployed in the Cisco Store in San Jose, California this week. For a preview, watch our Tech Lab expert Brian Domine showcase the cameras at Cisco Live EMEA in Amsterdam.
