In New Delhi, women are breaking barriers in the automotive industry, with Professor P Rajalakshmi leading a team at IIT Hyderabad to design and manufacture autonomous shuttle vehicles. These electric vehicles, developed by TiHAN engineers, operate on a designated route within the institute’s campus, equipped with advanced navigation technology and safety features. While intended for off-road use currently, the government is working on regulations for autonomous vehicles, signaling India’s readiness for futuristic technology.
