A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was hospitalized after being ambushed while attempting to arrest a Venezuelan national in Minneapolis. During the incident, which occurred around 6:50 p.m., the agent was attacked by multiple individuals with a snow shovel and broom handle, leading him to fire his weapon in self-defense, injuring one suspect. The suspect had previously been released in 2022 under the Biden administration. Following the attack, all suspects barricaded themselves in an apartment but were later apprehended.
