Police Identify Rotorua Woman Found Unresponsive Near Lady Knox Geyser

The woman who tragically drowned near Rotorua’s Lady Knox Geyser on December 21 has been identified as Briar Stockley, 42, a beloved local mother of twins. Emergency services responded to reports of her unresponsive state in the water at around 6:15 AM. Police have ruled out foul play, deeming her death unexplained and have referred the case to the coroner. Stockley’s passing has left the community mourning the loss of an outgoing and cherished individual.
