When the Guinness World Records book was launched in 1955 to settle arguments in U.K. pubs, it evolved into a compilation of world records, including Hyundai’s new record for greatest altitude change by an electric vehicle. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV descended 19,035 feet across India, starting at the Himalayas and finishing below sea level in Kerala, showcasing Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery, the Ioniq 5 sets the record as the 2025 model with a North American Charging Standard port and fast charging capabilities.
