Hydro One says progress being made but severe damage continues to be discovered from ice storm

Hydro One is working with over 4,800 crew members to restore power to homes and businesses after an ice storm, stating that some of the hardest hit areas may not have power until later in the week. The utility has identified over 2,200 broken poles and is rebuilding sections of the grid, with the area around Kawartha Lakes having the most customers without power. Crews are facing severe damage and remote areas may face longer restoration times, despite the use of helicopters and drones to survey the damage.
