A German anti-fascist activist, Maja T, was sentenced to eight years in prison by a Hungarian court for her involvement in attacking participants at Budapest’s neo-Nazi rally, “Day of Honour”. The 25-year-old was convicted of attempted aggravated bodily harm and assault as part of a criminal organization. The attack resulted in injuries to nine people, including German and Polish citizens, with victims suffering broken bones and head injuries. Maja T’s extradition from Germany to Hungary in 2024 has drawn criticism for detention conditions and concerns over a fair trial.
