Hundreds mourn 8-year-old, who was killed in a mass shooting at a Minneapolis church

MINNEAPOLIS —

A funeral was held for 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel, one of two schoolchildren killed in a mass shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic church, where mourners celebrated his adventurous spirit and generosity. The shooter, Robin Westman, fatally shot himself after injuring 21 others; a service for the other victim, 10-year-old Harper Moyski, is scheduled for September 14.
