Humpback whale found dead near Keats Island, B.C.

A four-year-old humpback whale, known as Wisp, has been found dead near Keats Island in Howe Sound, prompting an investigation by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) to determine the cause. The whale was previously involved in an incident with a whale-watching vessel on October 23, raising concerns about vessel strikes being a significant threat to humpback populations.
