The tariffs, combined with earlier trade actions, could impose a 64.5 percent tax on Chinese batteries, potentially stalling the record installations expected this year. While batteries help address renewable energy challenges, such as intermittency, tariffs may disrupt the progress of domestic battery supply chains and clean energy policies, ultimately affecting both fossil fuel and clean energy industries negatively.
