A 32-year-old male nurse in Uganda has died of Ebola, marking the first fatality since the last outbreak in 2023; the Sudan strain of Ebola was confirmed following postmortem tests. At least 44 contacts of the victim have been identified, including 30 health workers and patients at Mulago Hospital, with authorities urging Ugandans to report suspected cases. Uganda has experienced multiple Ebola outbreaks, with the disease spreading through contact with bodily fluids and causing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, and internal bleeding.
