In Hong Kong, nine monkeys died in two days at the city’s zoo, prompting investigations and measures to prevent further deaths. The deceased monkeys included a De Brazza’s monkey, a common squirrel monkey, four white-faced sakis, and three critically endangered cotton-top tamarins. The area where the deaths occurred has been sealed off, disinfected, and experts are conducting necropsies and toxicological tests to determine the cause of the deaths.
