Hong Kong has seen a record number of over a million visitors from the Philippines this year, surpassing the 2018 figure, with the Tourism Board highlighting the contribution of Southeast Asian tourists to the industry’s recovery. The millionth Filipino visitor, Miguel Linao, arrived with his family for a gymnastics competition and sightseeing, praising the city’s food and theme parks. Visitor arrivals to Hong Kong have increased by 37% in the first 10 months of the year, with 920,000 Filipino tourists showing a recovery of 127% compared to pre-Covid levels, reaching 36.7 million total arrivals.
