Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Gladiator II” film has already faced criticism from historian Dr. Shadi Bartsch for its inaccuracies, including sharks in the Colosseum and Romans reading newspapers. The sequel stars Paul Mescal as the grown-up Lucius Verus II, son of Maximus, and features Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington. Despite the historical inaccuracies, the film is set to be released on Friday, Nov. 22.
