A high school lacrosse player at Westhill High School in Syracuse, N.Y., was traumatized after being abducted at gunpoint by older teammates as part of a misguided initiation prank. Eleven student-athletes have turned themselves in, facing charges of unlawful imprisonment, after luring younger players under the pretense of watching a match and then driving them to a remote area where one was blindfolded and placed in the trunk of a car. District Attorney William Fitzpatrick emphasized the severity of the incident, stating it goes “way beyond hazing” and warned of potential felony charges for those who did not comply.
