SINGAPORE: The police issued 87 summonses to heavy vehicle drivers for various traffic offences during a three-day enforcement operation from May 5-7, 2025, involving checks on 192 heavy vehicles. Key violations included not displaying speed limiter labels, which are required for vehicles exceeding 12 tonnes to reduce speed-related accidents. Starting January 2024, new regulations mandate that lorries between 3,501kg and 12,000kg must have speed limiters installed, with penalties up to three months in jail or S$1,000 for non-compliance.
