Despite an exemption for “lifesaving humanitarian assistance” announced by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, many programs remain closed, causing thousands to lose their jobs and putting lives at risk, particularly in malaria-affected regions where vital interventions are time-sensitive. The lack of clarity on when work can resume and the inability to access funds have left organizations struggling to maintain supplies and pay employees, with devastating consequences for global health efforts.
