Head coach of Azerbaijan’s U-18 national team talks on match with Mongolia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. Elkhan Abdullayev, head coach of Azerbaijan’s U-18 national team, expressed his disbelief at the weak opponent they faced in a recent football match, as reported by Trend.

Abdullayev commented on the Azerbaijan-Mongolia (1:0) match, part of the “FIFA Series—Edition 2024” project organized by FIFA in Baku. He noted that the Azerbaijani national team had never encountered such an easy opponent before.

He mentioned the expectations of fans in different matches, highlighting the need to perform well even against stronger opponents. Abdullayev emphasized the upcoming challenges in the Nations League against teams like Sweden, Slovakia, and Estonia.

Addressing the urgency of appointing a new head coach for the national team, Abdullayev stressed the importance of coaching players on scoring goals effectively.

The Azerbaijani national team’s next game will be against the Bulgarian national team.
