Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has been ordered to pay a further £1.8 million in tax following a legal battle with HMRC over his 2011-12 tax return. Grint previously lost his fight with HM Revenue and Customs in 2019, after claiming a payment from a company managing his business affairs was a capital asset. The Tribunal Judge dismissed his appeal, ruling the sum taxable as income, adding to his estimated £24 million earnings from playing Ron Weasley and recent approval for an eco village development on his estate.
