South Korea’s Hanwha Group has purchased a 9.9% stake in Australian shipbuilder Austal for A$4.45 per share, after proposing a full takeover a year earlier. Hanwha aims to establish a long-term partnership with Austal instead of pursuing complete ownership, as both companies look to expand their US operations in the wake of President Trump’s focus on American shipbuilding. Last year, Hanwha acquired US shipbuilder Philly Shipyard, enhancing its presence in the American market.

SOTA parent portal taken down in response to systems vulnerability targeted by global cyberattacks
SINGAPORE: The School of the Arts (SOTA) has temporarily taken down its parent portal due to a global cyberattack targeting school-managed systems, which began around July 18. The school is implementing an immediate patching process for affected servers and has informed parents it will restore service as soon as possible, while the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore has issued warnings regarding vulnerabilities in Microsoft SharePoint.
