Jono Ridler faces new challenges in 2023 after completing New Zealand’s longest ocean swim, a 99km journey in the Hauraki Gulf from Aotea Great Barrier to Auckland, which took him 33 hours non-stop. He described it as his most difficult swim, both physically and mentally. Ridler has also achieved the triple crown of New Zealand open water swimming, successfully crossing the Cook Strait, Lake Taupō, and Foveaux Strait.
