Tom Phillips’ son held rifle as armed police negotiators approached bush hideout

One of Tom Phillips’ children, 10-year-old Maverick, was armed with a rifle when police special tactics group (STG) approached their bush hideout. Officers successfully negotiated with Maverick to drop the weapon while searching for Phillips’ remaining children after the fugitive was shot dead on Monday.
