Apple, Google urged to remove X and Grok from app stores
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A coalition of nearly 30 advocacy groups is urging Google and Apple to remove the social media platform X and its AI app Grok from their app stores due to concerns about Grok generating sexualized images of minors and women. The groups claim this violates the companies’ policies and have called for urgent action. Meanwhile, California Attorney General Rob Bonta has launched an investigation into the explicit material produced by Grok, which has also drawn scrutiny from U.K. and European officials. Elon Musk, owner of X and xAI, denies awareness of illegal content generated by Grok and asserts that the app declines prompts for such images.
