A Texas man died while hiking on the South Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon amid warnings of extreme temperatures exceeding 110 degrees. The 67-year-old hiker, who was trying to reach Phantom Ranch, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead; the National Park Service cautioned against hiking during peak heat hours due to hazardous conditions.
